Inspired by arctic beauty, Bering watches were born out of one man’s quest for adventure. In 1728, Danish sailor Vitus Bering set sail for an almost unknown area of the Arctic Ocean. On his journey, he crossed straits that would later be named the Bering Strait in his honour and became the first European to discover Alaska. It is also here that one of the four time zones bears his name: Bering-Time. When Danish business man Rene Kaerskov visited the North Pole in 2008 he was looking for excitement, but what we found was the idea for a watch brand that captures the cool beauty of the arctic with the simple elegance of Danish design. The idea for Bering Watch Design was born.
